Family Support Group
Purpose: A long-term maintenance group for consumers of mental health services and/or their supports to sustain the recovery efforts of consumers. Duration: Long term-open ended group with rolling enrollment. Components: Flexible agenda that follows Dr. William McFarlane’s model for Multifamily Groups including: socializing, go-around, and problem identification/solving and ending with socialization.
Family Education Curriculum
Purpose: To provide reliable psychoeducational materials in a classroom setting for consumers of mental health services, their families and/or their chosen support system. Duration:Takes place over several weeks and/or months Components:Workshop model led by a mental health professional and peer consultant that follows a standardized syllabus.
